Totally agree 👍. Even houses in the towns are not occupied by owners' children, why must the ones in the villages be different. People build for themselves not for the successors. I don't want to live in the house my ancestors built. I want my own with the taste of my generation

@Lanredeola Yes, they build the houses and return. I don't know what you mean by returning permanently. They don't build the houses to live there permanently. That was not the purpose. People that have more than one house don't live in all the houses at the same time.
Are you using your community as a reference or Igbo community. I can tell you for sure that Igbo people in the US and Canada are building mansion in their community. Maybe not all, but certainly many and their children do come home regularly.
