RE: music schools accepting applicants who can't read Western notation -- I think it comes down to whether you feel music schools are liberal arts institutions designed to teach people *about* music, or trade schools designed to get musicians jobs in their field.

The Jann Wenner @NYT interview was astonishing in his level of contempt for Female, Black, & Brown (never even came up) artists, but not at all surprising. He literally states that he should have included a token (imo) Female & Black to blunt the criticism he’s currently getting.
Okay I've spent all of a few hours thinking about copyright infringement by generative AI (note I've practiced copyright law before) and the correct treatment seems kind of obvious to me, so I'd like someone to tell me what I'm missing since I know it's hotly contested. 1/11
