People have learned a few psychological buzzwords on social media, like "gaslighting," "narcissist," "boundaries," and "toxic", and now they use them to run away from normal human conflict. Sometimes your partner isn't a "toxic narcissist violating your boundaries"; sometimes they are just annoyed, having a bad day, and you are actually the one who was wrong. We have weaponized therapy language to ensure we never have to apologize or compromise.
I had a guy friend whose girlfriend gave him the silent treatment for the slightest issues. Would refuse to talk through any problems with him & tried to make kowtow to her every time.
One day he said he wasn’t gonna tolerate that anymore and would leave if she didn’t stop. She called his bluff, so he left.
She freaked out & ran after him & said she wouldn’t do it again & apologized. She’s been true to her word, they eventually got married. They’ve been together for like 15+ years now.
Men, be willing to walk away from women like this. She will either respect you more for it, or you will get rid of someone not worth your time.
If you are looking for a realistic movie about the Bosnian war, the “Savior” is probably one of the best American movies about this conflict. Dark, gritty and graphic, it was filmed in 1998, right after the war.
Dennis Quaid is playing the leading role - he is a disgruntled US officer who joined Serbian forces in Bosnia because of the personal vendetta.
Most weapons in the movie are historically accurate, the most interesting being the South African Vektor R4 rifle used by Dennis Quad himself. Why would a Serbian soldier use a South African rifle?
In our upcoming book, “From Balkans to Babylon: Zastava AKs of Yugoslavia, Serbia, and Iraq” we will dive deep into the story of R4s in former Yugoslavia and analyse how this South African rifle influenced the development of modern Serbian firearms.
Why 4 GB RAM on Linux can feel “stronger” than 16 GB on Windows
The reason 4 GB of RAM on Linux can feel better than 16 GB on Windows is mostly about what runs before you even open an app.
When Windows boots, it starts many background services to cover every type of user: updates, indexing, security scans, telemetry, compatibility layers, and UI helpers.
Each one uses a bit of memory, and together they quietly consume several gigabytes while the system is “idle.” Linux takes the opposite approach.
It starts only what is essential and leaves everything else to the user. No constant indexing, no forced telemetry, no background helpers unless you enable them.
So with the same hardware, Windows may already be using a large chunk of RAM at rest, while Linux keeps most of it free for actual work.
That’s why Linux feels faster on low-RAM machines not because Windows is bad, but because Linux simply runs less by default.
