@CazMinx Yeh maybe ~8 hours, some of the other sites that were down are now back up, but the last AWS outage did take a while to sort out.

[Steven McG @steven_mcg]

@CazMinx It's a problem on the server side, there has been a pretty epic outage of Amazon's cloud services which various sites run on.

@wisemonkeyash Will drop you a DM with details if i do decide to take a trip down, hope you make it there for @tenderlove tomorrow ;-)

[Steven McG @steven_mcg]

@wisemonkeyash That's the beauty, i'd have the car until the Monday (not open on Sunday) so no rush to leave particularly early ;-)

[Steven McG @steven_mcg]

@wisemonkeyash I'm sitting here with tabs open, thinking; "shit i've been meaning to go to the Brewdog bar and it's only £40 for a hire car"

[Steven McG @steven_mcg]

@wisemonkeyash One needs to have profits to be worthwhile expensing things ;-) Fuck it, been meaning to go to Brewdog for ages.

[Steven McG @steven_mcg]

@wisemonkeyash It's the conference fees that kill it ;-) Hire car + hotel + beer = not too bad … have tabs open, considering it :-/

[Steven McG @steven_mcg]

@wisemonkeyash (can't specify diesel, but from previous experience it's expected and only 300 miles (~75% tank) to Edinburgh)

[Steven McG @steven_mcg]

@wisemonkeyash Well it could be £30 for some Chevy Spark PoS, the extra £10 is totally worth it for a Mondeo for 2 days ;-)

[Steven McG @steven_mcg]

@wisemonkeyash OK life is just mocking me; train £52, (nice) hire car £40, i suspect this is what's wrong with public transport.

[Steven McG @steven_mcg]

@wisemonkeyash You are just goading me into finding out where the nearest Premier Inn is aren't you :-P

[Steven McG @steven_mcg]

@wisemonkeyash Damn right! It would liven up hill walking no end and i'm sure the tourists would love it :-)

[Steven McG @steven_mcg]

@wisemonkeyash … these days it's more that i have no idea where to stay (i actually slept on a park bench once) ;-)

[Steven McG @steven_mcg]

@wisemonkeyash It was easier to entice me when it was a <1hour train ride from Glasgow and i could get back at night after a few pints …

@wisemonkeyash Sinking Vs Sunk?

[Steven McG @steven_mcg]

@wisemonkeyash Yup there's 2 polar bears not 50 miles from here, without the daylight we'd be fucked :-O

[Steven McG @steven_mcg]

Today on twitter: Upside – no more hash bangs [#!] in addresses, Downside – replies are now composed in expanded view [WTF!]

[Steven McG @steven_mcg]

@wisemonkeyash See points 2 and 3 ;-)

[Steven McG @steven_mcg]

@wisemonkeyash HA! It was barely twilight in Inverness this time last night :-P
