Seeking two research assistants with interests in biophysical modeling, aging and dementia, brain imaging, and related areas of computational and cognitive neuroscience. We seek recent graduates with high motivation and strong computational skills: https://t.co/pt2AdJSk1C.
Seeking two Postdoctoral Fellows in (i) Biophysical Modeling (@thevirtualbrain) in People at Risk of Alzheimer Disease; (ii) Network Neuroscience of Naturalistic Language in Aging Risk Factors. We seek computationally sophisticated highly motivated PhD's: https://t.co/pt2AdJSk1C.
From "Pop's Battalion Diary"
9MAY45: V-E DAY Frose
"The war ended officially at 0001. There was no great outburst of excitement. Nobody danced with joy. Nobody got drunk. It is hard to believe that hostilities are over! It will take time to sink in..."
Thanks to Pop and all vets.
Very pleased to report that my open access article on precision medicine in neurology has finally appeared! Besides "-omics", discussion includes computation, devices, brain simulation (@thevirtualbrain), and value-based care. Take a look! https://t.co/FZoMLKJAbA
This puts us in the top 5% of linguistics, top 10% of exp. psychology & top third of neuroscience journals, many of which are by commercial publishers. We hope you agree our not-for-profit, open-access mission (& comparatively low APCs) is worth supporting with your next article!
@UTDPainLab My dad told the same stories! I was fortunate to see him play for SF against the Mets at Polo Grounds and Shea and the *for* the Mets during his final two years. I never got to meet him despite trying… he lived near my mom both before and after they both entered assisted living.
Many thanks to our American, Canadian, and British grandfathers, along with many others, who 80 years ago today landed on the Normandy beaches in a quest to liberate Europe from the horrors of Nazism. We owe my grandfather Louis (PapaLou) and his colleagues an enormous gratitude.
The work that won today's Nobel in medicine (and saved millions of lives) "was summarily rejected by the journals Nature and Science". Keep trying. Journals are often resistant to new ideas.
Nice story about a provocative article from @thelablab with some interesting comments from our @jneurolang colleague @ev_fedorenko and her cross-town laryngology colleague @SimonyanLab in Beantown.
The brain regions that have been identified as specialised language processing centres are actually hubs that coordinate the processing of language across multiple brain regions, argues a new study. https://t.co/8OxmERZS9g
I hope thought be given to editing this letter to have a less divisive tone & more substance
Calling work "pseuodoscience" is a harsh take & there is nothing in the letter on this point (other than cites to secondary material via a blog, magazine + newsmagazine)
So excited! @jneurolang is now on @PubTrend, @webofscience, and @Scopus with Impact Factor 3.2! Among emerging journals (ECSI), #1/94 ling, #1/8 exp psych, #9/34 neuro. Pls submit your best work! Thx to @kateewatkins, SAsaridou, @arglotfelty, @mitpress, super ed bd, and authors!
This puts us in the top 10% of linguistics, top 30% of exp. psychology & top half of neuroscience journals, many of which are by commercial publishers. We hope you agree our not-for-profit, open-access mission (& comparatively low APCs) is worth supporting with your next article!
Very sorry to report the passing of our most senior and revered @BBSutdallas@UT_Dallas neuroscientist, Dr. Aage Møller, kind gentleman, brilliant teacher, and pioneer in intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring and hearing research. We will miss him greatly.
Just received the award notice for our @UT_Dallas@BBSutdallas@NSF grant on Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU)! Terrific leaders @MandyJMaguire1 and Margaret Owen @CCFUTD will direct the efforts on Culturally Responsive Research in Developmental Science. Great news!!
Wonderful news from the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences at UT Dallas! We have three new Full Professors: Professor Greg Dussor in Neuroscience; Professor Ed Lobarinas in Speech, Language, and Hearing; and Professor Noah Sasson in Psychology. Congratulations! So deserving!
Excellent talk at @SNLmtg by Elissa Newport @Georgetown last eve. Third day starting great. Paraphrase from Hugues Duffau @CHU_Montpellier : Impossible to understand language networks without considering their relationship to other networks in the brain. Bravo! #SNL2020
Very pleased by the terrific turnout at @SNLmtg and kudos to Sonja Kotz @BANDLabUM and the organizing team. Nice start to the meeting with a great keynote by @CrinionJenny@UCLPALS@UCL_ICN on biologically- and network-motivated aphasia therapy. #SNL2020
