Hackers (1995). It's always fun to see how film makers tried to visualise cyberspace in the '90s. In Hackers it's not all CGI; a mix of motion control photography, model making and rotoscoping is also used to suggest that supercomputers are cool.

More importantly in 1982 the MIDI technical standard was agreed. A MIDI link could carry up to sixteen channels of data, allowing synths, sequencers, drum machines and anything else MIDI-enabled to work together. Studio-level technology was suddenly available to anyone.
Feel free to disagree, I'm just a voice in the aether, but name another typeface that would work on a Roland? The future was forged in our imaginations when we were young, and type sometimes needs to take us back there to connect us with tomorrow. I think Earth does the job quite well.
