There are three ways to answer that:

At Rorke's Drift, 100 men held a station against 4,000 Zulu warriors. By rifle, by bayonet, by hand. They did not break.

At the Imjin River, surrounded and almost out of ammunition, a British officer calmly informed his American commander that "things are a bit sticky." Then his men fixed bayonets and held their hill to the last round.

That is the British way of war.

The hardest, the coldest, the most disciplined fighters the world has ever produced.
