My daughter is entering 9th grade and recently asked, “Which careers will still be promising in 10 years?”

So I spent the weekend researching with AI:
1. Collected occupations from the BLS and filtered for those requiring a college education.

2. Analyzed each career’s outlook, potential AI impact, recommended majors, leading U.S. colleges, and useful high-school AP courses.

3. Built a list of 390 occupations, including salary, employment numbers, projected growth, and more.

We reviewed the list together and identified five careers that appear resilient—and, most importantly, genuinely interest her.

I used DeepSeek R1 to plan a trip to Australia and compared its output to the real trip I planned last year, which took me weeks to organize. I have to admit, R1 is much better at trip planning than I am—and I consider myself pretty good at it. R1 completely outperformed me!
