We're actually finally witnessing the downfall of Fabrizio Romano. Even clubs calling him out for being the shit stirring little weasel that he is.
I prayed for times like this.
@TheOddSolace Building a Mundial squad is not about rewarding the best seasonal stats. Itโs about building a machine where every part works under pressure. Don Carlo handled this as well as anyone could. Joรฃo Pedro is faultless, but others simply bring more to the current Brazilian machine.
@imYash07 Depending on how Rayan performs at the World Cup, Atlรฉtico or even Real Madrid isnโt a crazy shout at all.
He reminds me of Gareth Bale ,explosive, direct, physically dominant in transition. Exactly the type Mourinho has always loved and Simeone would thrive with too.
City are about to face the difficult years most clubs go through after losing a long-term manager and honestly, Iโm here for it.
If this rumour is true, they need a bigger plan than Maresca.
๐จ Pep Guardiola to leave position as Manchester City manager at end of this season. 55yo Spaniard departing after trophy-laden decade & set to be replaced by Enzo Maresca. No official confirmation yet from #MCFC. W/ @SamLee@TheAthleticFC after @MailSport https://t.co/FMjZXxfuPq
Arteta subbing off Eze instead of รdegaard surprised me, but maybe รdegaardโs pressing intensity and distance covered are why he stayed on. Still, he had an absolute stinker tonight.
๐ณ๐ฑ Vitesse could still be promoted to the Eredivisie despite currently sitting 12th in the table.
They play in the Eerste Divisie, the Dutch second tier, a league with one of the most unusual promotion systems in Europe.
With just 2 matches remaining, Vitesse sit 11 points off the top 8, which would normally make the play-offs impossible.
But this is not a normal league.
Several Jong (youth) teams compete in the division and are not eligible for promotion. For example, Jong PSV currently sit 5th, meaning the play-off spots extend further down the table.
Even then, Vitesse are still 7 points off 9th place, which would usually be the final play-off position.
So how are they still in contention?
The league is split into four separate periods: matches 1โ10, 11โ20, 21โ29, and 30โ38.
The winner of each period earns a play-off spot, regardless of their overall league position.
Periods 1, 2 and 3 have already been won by teams currently in the top two.
But in Period 4 (matches 30โ38), Vitesse are currently top.
If they hold onto that position over the final two matches, they will qualify for the play-offs despite sitting 12th.
That means a team outside the top half could still have a route to promotion.
There is another layer to it.
Vitesse were handed a 12-point deduction this season. Without it, they would be sitting around 8th place, comfortably inside the play-off spots under normal circumstances.
Now, despite everything, they still have a chance.
Could we see one of the most unlikely promotion stories, with Vitesse going from 12th to the Eredivisie?
