Two years ago I visited a specialist. Staff saw my N95, BACKED UP, asked if I was sick. Meanwhile, a red-nosed, sniffling, coughing woman sat maskless by the reception window and they didn't flinch. Even medical staff are more afraid of PPE than actual airborne disease. 🙄
The best estimates are that COVlD continues to kill >100,000 people in the U.S. annually, more than breast and prostate cancer combined.
Excess death estimates are even higher.
I once remember someone dangerously claiming “kids are practically immune” to COVID. Long COVID is real, even for infants exposed to COVID in-utero. ➡️All the people to told pregnant moms to ignore COVID / don’t vaccinate if pregnant should be ashamed & held accountable.
Cardiovascular complications from covid-19 have been seen widely since the early days of the pandemic.

At the current infection rate, most American children will have 15 SARS-CoV-2 infections if/when they make it to adulthood. Each reinfection increases the risk of serious outcomes.
All of my kids mask 100% in public indoor spaces. So do these black belts. Read the room.

Do you think that children in schools deserve to breathe clean air?
The following is a blueprint for how parents can make this more of a reality.
Long CVD is the #1 chronic health issue among children affecting 1 in 5 to 1 in 10 children…let’s protect them!
Very clear:
The rise in cardiovascular and neuro disease after “let it rip” was predicted — and preventable.
Clean air. Protect kids. Rebuild prevention.
New review: poor indoor air in U.S. schools causes students to miss ~14 M school days each year due to asthma.
Installing HEPA‑grade air filters + real‑time CO₂ monitors in classrooms can cut absences by up to 40% and boost test scores by as much as 10%.

The Covid pandemic is one of the greatest disasters in public health history. A SARS virus has been left to rip. An estimated 30 millions have died and 400 + millions have experienced Long Covid. Erasure of Long Covid is crucial to mass infection and Let it Rip policies
When you ignore health&safety legislation and COSHH.
Really why are people just accepting this??
We are making out doctors sick due to lack of airborne IPC
We are making our nurses sick due to lack of airborne IPC
We are making our patients sick due to lack of airborne IPC
Your immune system isn't a Tamagotchi that dies if you don't play with it.
"Immunity debt" is a marketing term to make you blame yourself instead of bad policy.
Getting sick constantly isn't normal — it’s a public health failure.
This beautifully told story by @Hayley_Gleeson on Raina MacIntyre’s new book Vaccine Nation could not be more timely or important. Raina is a public health superhero. @Globalbiosec@abcnews

I get asked sometimes by friends and family why I still mask. I point out that I’m a scientist who publishes on sc2. If I approach the virus with caution, there are probably good reasons for it. (People usually don’t want to listen to the reasons).
Just using protective FFP2/N95 type masks (respirators) in Singapore healthcare facilities kept staff safe, reduced plastic waste, carbon emissions & lowered related costs.
📢 Airborne protections work!
