Some incredible words from FIFA President Gianni Infantino, specifically recognising our club’s participation in the OFC Pro League, the impact being made across Oceania and our recent Australian Championship triumph, where we were not only a foundation club, but the inaugural champions.
But beyond results, we want to be leaders of football in this country. To see the FIFA executive recognise the direction of our club, the ambition behind what we are building and the impact we are making across the region is something we are incredibly excited about.
From domestic success to representing our badge internationally, this football club continues to push forward on every front.
The club is going places, and we want you on that journey with us.
This week, South Melbourne was able to reflect on the past few months as part of World Football Giving Day.
Across Oceania, football is far more than a game. It is a powerful tool for connection, opportunity and social impact through programs delivered across communities throughout the region.
The OFC continues to use football to strengthen communities, empower young people and create positive change both on and off the pitch.
As a club, we are proud to continue playing our part across both Australia and Oceania, and look forward to growing our community programs further into 2027 and beyond.
Andy Paschalidis is a great football man (and friend of our club) and we were thrilled to have him at Lakeside last night, as he continues to lead the way in promoting heart health through the Heartbeat of Football foundation.
Heartbeat of Football is focused on reducing the number of cardiac events through proactive testing and the promotion of defibrillators at sporting grounds across Australia.
Many fans, staff and everyone at the game had the opportunity to get their health checked and learn more about the importance of regular health checks.
It’s never too late to get checked.
There can only be one OFC Pro League Champion 🏆
