What does "Fire, Nature Unknown" mean?
Despite the name, a "Fire, Nature Unknown" call doesn't always mean there's a confirmed fire. It's a dispatch category used when someone reports possible smoke, flames, or another situation that may require the fire department, but the exact nature of the incident isn't yet known. Once crews arrive, they determine what's happening, and the call may be reclassified, or there may not be a fire at all.
