True @nimeshpinn ! But innovation takes years before we see it arriving in our hospitals. And we can’t tell the people with TB to wait until we have better and cheaper tests. So it should be both: advocating for more innovation and advocating for fair prices of existing tests.

While I get the call for cheaper GeneXpert tests, expecting $5 might not align with free market realities. Better to back innovation. Let new players shake things up, disrupt and build something even better than we can imagine now.

How do companies like @CepheidNews & @DanaherCorp price their tests? Not based on transparent pricing and transparency in how much it costs to produce. Disclosing the cost of production are key to fair pricing.
