i'm obsessed with AI DIY projects.
my favorite one right now is this broccoli farmer in hokkaido, japan using Codex to run his 100-hectare farm
this guy never studied agriculture, never inherited land, started out as a civil servant.
but he wanted his farm to run better, and instead of paying an engineering firm he couldn't afford, he just built the tools himself.
here's what he's built on his own:
> remote control of his greenhouse vents from a chat app, wired up with an esp32 board, a motor driver, and cloudflare workers
> a bot that checks each greenhouse's temperature and opens the vents when it gets too hot
> satellite crop-health data laid over a map of his own fields
> an airtable base linking his plots, tasks, materials, and sensors
> wiring diagrams of his electrical panels, generated from a photo
stuff like this used to be locked behind machinery and engineers only the big agribusinesses could pay for.
but this legend just breezed past all of it with a laptop and Codex lol
I am honored to have such a wonderful write-up on the Bitforge Nano Ghost Edition bitcoin miner winning Silver at the London Design Awards. To be nominated is one thing, to win is extraordinary!

@BitcoinNewsCom & @BitcoinNews I'd like to bring this to your attention too.
Many thanks to the local community for all their contributions, it took almost an hour to organize them all. In the end we returned 1420 cans = 160,000 satoshi♻️towards building the greenhouse

Wow 1,000 followers!🙏
Thank you for coming along on this journey and for liking/sharing my work.
I’m currently focusing a lot of time towards two launches in July (fingers crossed)

The culmination of nearly 2 years of drawing, experimenting, prototyping, buying every pen on the market, (breaking every pen on the market) and exploring bitcoin through image/line.
The mission, explore bitcoin through the lens of drawing.

We post this for those who are still green about Bitcoin.
Bitcoin is not only about trading, charts, or getting rich quickly. Bitcoin is about freedom, hope, and giving people a chance to build a better future.
Here in Uganda, we have seen Bitcoin bring smiles to orphans, support education, feed families, and keep hope alive in communities facing poverty. Through Bitcoin, kind people from around the world are able to support vulnerable children directly and transparently.
Bitcoin teaches saving, patience, responsibility, and long-term thinking. It is a tool that can empower the lower class and connect humanity without borders.
Before judging Bitcoin, first understand its purpose and how it is changing lives for ordinary people every day.
For us, Bitcoin is more than money — it is a light of hope for the next generation.

A Bitcoin school exists in rural Bugiri that should not be possible.
100+ children. 4 classroom blocks. 22 staff.
Paid for almost entirely in sats.
The story starts with 34 strangers and a single plane ticket in May 2023. I opened a @geyserfund campaign asking 5.9M sats for a flight to @BTCPrague. Thirty-four people sent it in. I got on the plane.
At the Circular Economies booth in Prague, I was challenged: bring Bitcoin home. Use it for the things money is actually for. Not slogans.
I went back to Uganda looking for the place that test would land hardest. I found it in Bugiri.
An orphanage called @orphansofuganda . 77 children. No electricity. No plates. No toothbrushes.
The only school within 10 kilometres — Starlight Elementary — was about to close after a district inspector flagged it below ministry standard.
We did not buy the school first. We signed an MOU. Administered it for 18 months. Earned the right to be trusted with it. Then acquired the title.
Four classroom blocks went up. Every load of cement was paid for in Bitcoin. Every tile. Every can of paint.
The older students who plastered and sanded and carried were paid in sats for their hours on site.
A muralist(@dennis_kasagga) moved onto the campus and stayed.
By February 2026, the school was open.
