We can start culture change at any level in an organisation. However, when senior leaders show the way, and role model positive behaviour, more change is likely to happen, more quickly. The Arbinger Institute has just released a new (free) guide: "The leadership gold standard: A blueprint to culture transformation from the top down". It contains some super tools that anyone can use, not just senior leaders: https://t.co/3EbaWCHsb4 Via @SmartBrief

What you can achieve when you give competent people autonomy rather than try to impose unnecessary hierarchy on them. Learning from the way that Formula One transformed itself & its performance: a graphic story from @voinonen. It's brilliant & very funny: https://t.co/GlF2LJPWQn
Happy 75th Birthday NHS. To all the brilliant staff and volunteers. There’s a print of this with all profits going to NHS Charities Together. ❤️ https://t.co/k4Yxx4xdO4
When you next feel triggered by a situation it’s worth taking a pause and asking yourself why.
Here are some considerations from The Gottman Institute.
Many commentators talk about the importance of so-called "soft skills" for leadership into the future. @IDEOU has (so appropriately) rebranded them as "power skills". Here's their brilliant list of 12 key power skills:
1) Cultivating joy
2) Meaningful collaboration
3) Small-scale experimentation
4) Grounding in purpose
5) Creating community
6) Frame shifting
7) Leading with empathy
8) Emotional proofreading
9) Making room for more voices
10) Leading with questions
11) Finding balance
12) Agility

Often, we frame our change activities in a challenging way: "break the rules", "confront the status quo", "daring to fail & learn" etc. Why don't we flip this & just give ourselves permission to do things? I'm inspired by these "permission slips" from @kwiens. What do you give yourself permission to do, individually & as a team? Download the slips for free at https://t.co/PpmKpASqZW

@WeAHPs
Advanced Practice isnt just about clinical practice-our role is heavily involved in leadership, education & research/audit.
ACPs are not a replacement for doctors but can be an integral part of the team.We work autonomously, are motivated, educated & highly skilled. #AdvPracWeek21
@SeanOSu37 @RCOT_Gen @theRCOT It's been challenging at times doing the apprenticeship whilst working full time but I've learnt so much especially clinically in skills that are outside my comfort zone. I just wish OT's could complete the non-medical prescribing module as other AHP's can!
