I must admit that I physically cringe with someone in the US refers to a "grill" as a "BBQ" (as in "Someone stole my stainless steel BBQ").
A "grill" or a "smoker" are cooking vessels; "BBQ" is the food that you create by cooking low-and-slow on a smoker or grill...
