Carlson argued we are constantly acted on by supernatural forces and that a spiritual war is underway which makes sense of events that otherwise seem chaotic or inexplicable. He mentioned personally sensing unusual vibes from certain powerful people and wondering what lies beneath the surface.
The discussion challenges the assumption that visible leaders and institutions hold all the power and points instead to unseen influences shaping history.

Additionally, In Philippians, Paul refers to his opponents (the followers of James in Jerusalem) as ‘dogs,’ a pejorative Jewish term for Gentiles. He is reversing the application: he, and his communities, are the ‘new circumcision of the heart,’ and the Jewish Christians headed up by the Jerusalem church are the ‘dogs.’

In other words, Paul is coming right out into open warfare against the Jerusalem Christians and saying that circumcision, signifying male membership in the Jewish community, is nothing other than castration, mutilation, and phallic worship! In short, Paul was really, really angry and had descended to downright dirty rhetoric. But, considering his opponents, the Zealots, and what was at stake, who can blame him?

Why are we all spending much time and energy trying to discover and know the truth? It seems to me that to love the truth is what we are being asked to do. We are asked how much we love it. How much we are prepared to give to know it.
But why do some people love the truth and others not? What is it about truth that is loveable and makes us yearn for it so much?
What is truth anyway? For me, the truth is the essence of something, its natural state, something as it really is. For me, it is really a quest for love, because to truly love something I must know it for what it really is. Perhaps we can sense in an unconscious way that there is a deeper truth to everything and everyone, and we are lead to search for the truth about it, so that we can truly love it for what it really is.
