@Wulf_Ex_Machina@TaylorProCan @TaraBull808 (5) out of the position. Either way looking at the 13-Fs it doesn’t matter as the last one filed in November no longer showed any position in $AMC for them.
@Wulf_Ex_Machina@TaylorProCan @TaraBull808 (4) was an option position unless they exercise they own no underlying security. Options also have expiration dates so yes if you did nothing and it hit its expiration date it would expire and just go away, that simple. I doubt they let them expire but more than likely sold
@Wulf_Ex_Machina@TaylorProCan @TaraBull808 (3)this fund probably closed all of their puts by selling out of them. So, they sold their out contract to someone else that wanted to buy a put at the strike or possibly even the MM who was just purchasing the contract back for whatever reason. Once again their put position
@Wulf_Ex_Machina@TaylorProCan @TaraBull808 (2)An option contract gives you the opportunity to “control” 100 shares at set strike. If it’s a call/long and the strike is $20 then at say $22 you could exercise and buy those 100 shares at $20 and hold or sell and make profit. Most options are closed by selling out of it
@Wulf_Ex_Machina@TaylorProCan @TaraBull808 (1)A put is an option. Say fund X had 10 puts at a $20 strike that gives them the ability to exercise the option. Say the SP hits $17, they could exercise and short those share from $20 Just owning a put is not owning share short/selling short, it is merely owning the option
@TaylorProCan @TaraBull808 Not shilling been an ape since before Jan 29th. They didn’t go tits up, they are closing and returning investor money. Once again this will have zero impact and being honest about that is better than creating hopium. Also they don’t have to account for them not how options work
@NRuggia @TaraBull808 More than likely these have been held for a minute meaning the seller of the option had already hedged the position. If anything it will result in those shares used to hedge being sold back in to the market which could have a negative impact..more than likely no impact either way
@StonkyMcStonker @TaraBull808 Also, technically speaking there is a possibility that this could result in shares being sold into the market. If shares were purchased by MM to hedge the putoptions they could be free of those options depending on how this fund closes them. Then those hedged shares would be sold
@StonkyMcStonker @TaraBull808 Not an angry know it all. A firm dissolving which will have zero impact on $AMC is not a win just because they held a short position via put options. It is people who take nothing and try to make it something to create hopium that bothers me… this is not a win nor a loss…
