#STOPAB2389 - We want California’s AB-2389 pulled by its author Assembly Member Cristina Garcia (Dem) This bill would wrongly criminalize adult workers!
@stopab2389@APAGunion@AsmGarcia Since 2007: “only 1374 arrests of traffickers....fewer than 1,000 juvenile victims...rescued.” -Massive Failure -U.S. estimates 199,000 sex exploitation incidents every yr. (MAYBE that’s an over inflated number, MAYBE #decriminalize real #SexWork)
ASM Cristina Garcia talks #AB2389 with @APAGunion President Alana Evans, & IEAU rep Phyllisha Anne. Evans explains why the bill isn’t needed, Garcia claims “sex trafficking,” & Phyllisha says performers won’t educate themselves unless forced😳at 35 mins https://t.co/FYK9pd8pde
#AB2389 is a CA Bill that will cause the discrimination and criminalization of adult workers! It violates privacy & safety, and will cost tax payers $$$ https://t.co/4ocHIl9yte
We must be striking a nerve! The backstabber behind #AB2389@annephyllisha is following our page! She must want to see all the issues her crap bill is causing! Well grab some popcorn, lady! Performers don’t want your bill! #STOPAB2389
I wrote a piece for our website to detail a phone call I had with the Labor Deputy from #AB2389 Assemblymember Cristina Garcia's office regarding our issues with the bill- https://t.co/PVPd017Qje… @APAGunion
@annephyllisha@ientertainadult@APAGunion@alanaevansxxx@cnnbrk@FSCArmy Like for example, only one part of the bill even mentions the Labor Union Organization is able to enforce anything, which is IEAU. It doesn't specify on who holds the registry of entertainers, who hands out the certification, etc besides leaving it up to Division of Labor
@APAGunion I would like to see "just" removed from that sentence as none are necessary & all are added barriers to entry especially for everyone who starts SW for survival, who need work NOW not after a bunch of unnecessary expensive beaurocracy.
