We are opposing the proposed development of 3,400 acres of high quality fertile farmland and green belt land across West Oxfordshire into a huge solar farm.
The Conservative Party has listened and changed under @KemiBadenoch.
We’re back fighting on the side of the British people again.

🥀📈 Labour-run Oxford City Council up to their eyes in debt - SHOCK! To think they want a unitary council that absorbs surrounding villages - NO THANKS! Council debt is now equivalent to £1746 per person UP by £423 since last year. #SameOldLabour
Another example of complete and utter Lib Dem incompetence with regards to planning in #Oxfordshire with taxpayers picking up the tab… https://t.co/8qcgsillTP
While Labour government are commissioning huge scale panel developments on prime farmland, they are also spending £50m of public money on sun dimming experiments. You can’t make this stuff up.
So the UK government is spending £50m of public money on sun dimming experiments, but at the same time, plastering solar panels on farmland. And in a country that has one of the lowest annual sunshine levels on the planet. And they said that the grown ups were in charge? 🤷♂️
But what about the other companies, British and foreign, using slave labour made solar panels to blanket the UK? Are they still allowed to use them? Hypocrisy at its best @Ed_Miliband@Keir_Starmer@UKLabour

Two large solar farms previously rejected by Cherwell council are now up for appeal. Only 0.6% of England is required for solar energy so we must be selective about where we produce it. We need a Renewable Strategy which protects the countryside.

@JamesMelville Having now fought 2 solar sites in Shropshire, both in protected landscapes next to AONB, both on farmland, both ultimately approved, the net zero zealotry trumps everything 😡
Mass-scale solar panels shouldn’t be plastered over prime agricultural land. We risk losing our quality soil, scenic countryside, farmland and fresh food supply at our own peril.
Mass-scale solar panels on prime farmland shouldn’t ever be approved and developed. As well as destroying scenic countryside, it reduces domestic food supply. Put solar panels on brownfields, car parks and roofs instead.
