@mtsw this is such an uncharitable reading of this piece. i love the transportation infrastructure in western europe but it's wrong to assume that the existence of good buses/trains means a city is equitable. the backlash to this piece is so aggressive and unnecessary.

@thatengel I am so confused by this question/premise. NYC is objectively *better* governed and our public services are higher in quality compared to other big cities. The critiques raised in that thread are valid complaints but largely the result of structural issues not individual leaders.
