Ever wonder how the Long Wavelength Array (LWA) images the invisible low-frequency radio sky in real time?
256 cross-polarized dipole antennas are spread across a ~100 m field. Every element is digitized with precise phase coherence. The system then computes cross-correlations for all antenna-pair baselines, sampling the uv-plane with visibility data. A fast inverse Fourier transform (IFFT) converts those visibilities into stunning all-sky images — revealing the dynamic radio universe at 10–88 MHz, updated every few seconds with 100% duty cycle!

🌌 Long Wavelength Array (LWA)

@geerlingguy I think this is a plausible BOM for the power supply:
- AP3441SHE-7B buck regulator
- SRP5030CC-2R2M inductor (2.2uH)
- input cap: looks like 0805, maybe a 10uF/16V X5R
- output cap: looks like 1206, maybe a 22uF/6.3V X5R
- 4.7nF capacitor, 2.2k resistor, 10k resistor in 0402
Funny project:
LiteX + Linux PCIe NIC + LitePCIe + LiteEth + PCIe PTM + White Rabbit = One very busy Artix7 XC7A35T! 😅
No wasted resources on the cost efficient SPEC-A7 WR board!

The M17 Remote Radio Unit (RRU) is here! I'm going to test it soon. Stay tuned.

I’ve been busy developing a Laplace solver in geometry nodes to determine the current distribution in PCB copper planes! You can see in this demo how the current flows in the copper pour, it goes around the cutouts and it gets dense in narrow areas! Really excited where this will go next, this type of solver is only available in pro PCB design tools…until now! Will be including this soon in Electromag Nodes #geometerynodes #b3d #blender3d #simulationnodes #pcb #kicad #electronics #Engineering #laplace #educational #hardware #kicad #altium

We have enormous volume in our modular payload bay, whether flying with sensors, cameras, or tacos — which we are able to handily release while airborne, for deliveries on the go.
We can take off and land from a roof, a helipad, a parking spot, a tennis court, a ship’s deck.
It’s been so long since I shared anything publicly about what I’ve been working on and I am very excited to show off what we’ve been building. ([email protected])
I’d like to publicly introduce Therecraft which offers aviation services using our drone vehicle called Hopper —
Simulation results can look beautiful 😊 What you can see here is the PDN analysis of a power supply trace simulated with the awesome open-source tool Elmer-FEM. We used a coupled heat solver to calculate the temperature rise of the trace.
If you want to analyze the DC drop of a simple power delivery polygon you can do so in 2D with the freeware tool FEMM. You can import the DXF contour of the polygon you want to analyze and assign fixed voltages and load currents.
Just published the code for my NodeJS palette generator tool with Stable Diffusion:
