@wholemars It should have been a measure for more efficient use of tax funds already allocated. I voted No. If we could see improvements and functional government from our taxes I think we’d all feel differently.
@zerohedge If the democrats didn’t suck so much they wouldn’t have to worry about an idiot like Pratt. Acknowledging the issues is the bare minimum for entry.
@rawsalerts A permanent underclass has been the norm for centuries. What we hope is for a permanent lifting up of what would be considered the bottom of society.
The issue has never been with capitalism as an idea. It is with the system losing its original function.
Capital was supposed to move toward people with ideas. Toward creation, renewal, risk, and productive human energy. But when the structure starts rewarding incumbency, leverage, and control more than new enterprise, it stops being a discovery system and becomes a preservation system.
The common thread is that people need access to the conditions that let something new emerge…maybe the deepest question is whether we are still building systems that create openings, or systems that close them.

@MassieforKY Good luck, Massie. I’ll be rooting for you. Wish I lived in your district. Your race is the deciding factor in who is actually in charge of their democracy.
@SawyerMerritt I think it’s a terrible idea decoupling it from consumption. For the EV driver that commutes in town a couple miles this will sting and won’t lead them to embrace an EV. They should just tax tires to make up for it. It’s the only common shared expendable between ICE and EVs.
