@houseofqllc Mistborn!!!! I’m loving it so far! It was intimidating at first (not usually a high fantasy person) but got into the groove quickly and found it isn’t much more intense than some of the low fantasy/YA I have read!!!
@JessicaKFoster Reading Romantasy is what put me into my first ever reading slump, so I won’t have a rec in your preferred genre 😂 but the book that broke me out of my slump was Scythe by Neal Shusterman!
@AuthorGFAllen Every once in a while. I do try to give a book a fair shot, but I also know that life is way too short to read books you don’t enjoy. I have def pushed my way through books and realized upon reflection I would have been happier to just DNF 😂
If I wake up in the morning saying “I feel like I was hit by a semi,” know that I mean this 100% literally.
#illbehereallweek
P.S. I’m fine and the driver of the semi is fine. Praise God I walked away from this and am able to hug my daughter again.
"Authors don't buy that many books. Don't market to other authors, market your books to readers."
Is an interesting statement.
I think many of us indie authors are, perhaps unintentionally, marketing to each other.
That said, I've bought a lot of indie titles since joining X.
What are all these balloons for? 😅
Last year in my 20’s, here’s to the feeling of leaving childhood behind (because we all know people in their 20’s are just big kids) 🫡
Friends who are grown adults with children/families of your own…
Do your parents still go all out on birthday celebrations? Cake, gifts, decorations, balloons, etc.?
If no, when did they stop?
@lascapigliata8 It is absolutely insane how many people are responding with some sort of “If a woman rapes/kills/commits a heinous crime they do.”
That is not an acceptable punishment at all for a heinous crime. Woman who commit a crime deserve to be imprisoned, sure, but still not raped.
@KT_Carlisle I will literally set one book down and pick up the next as often as I can 😂 the only reason I don’t do it every time is because sometimes it’s 4am and I have work in three hours when I finish a book (oops)…
@LexorBates Absolutely! If you’re going to let reviews sway you, at least READ the review. One person’s “I hated this because of the love triangle,” is another person’s “I loved this because of the love triangle.”
Today I saw one of my students reading my literal least fav book I’ve ever forced myself to finish and I asked how she was liking it and she said it was pulling her out of a reading slump and she loves it so much.
Book taste is so subjective friends ❤️
