@stowtownfc@ThetfordTownFC The club is now a shambles….management and players nowhere near the level they are playing at. The club and fans are just happy to pat everyone on the back each week and except another relegation
SIL level football is a better standard and doesn’t cost £8-9
Feeling emotional today hanging this football top on the line, knowing it’s a shirt that won’t be worn again. My son has played his last game for his Sunday team at U16s and won’t ever play for them again as his grassroots journey at youth level comes to an end.
Unless you’re involved in grassroots football you will never understand the impact of it on not only your child’s life but also your whole family. My hubby was also the coach of this team so it has been a major part of our lives for a very long time and it feels bizarre that it’s all over now. Although friendships will remain for years to come, the people who we have spent so much time with over the years won’t be part of our lives nearly as much as they have been.
My son started his grassroots journey at age 3, he loved kicking a ball but sometimes struggled in the beginning. He became more determined to push himself and as he grew he has gone to achieve many successes with his football, he has been a league winner, league cup winner, county cup winner and Nationals winner.
Although I’m so proud of these achievements what means more to me is being told that he is a great team player and captain, always fair and respectful, this makes me burst with pride. He has grown to be an amazing young man who makes me so proud every day.
Grassroots football has been so much more than just an after school activity, we have such amazing friendships and memories that will stay with us always.
I am and will always be my sons number 1 fan, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again….
Some people never get to meet their favourite footballer- mine calls me Mam !
They have the hardest job on the whole team.
If the Team are doing well - they can feel like a million miles away down the pitch, in the meantime the goalie stands still getting cold and feeling lonely.
Likewise, the goalie is the one who feels all the pressure if a goal is conceded.
So go on show your Goalkeeper some appreciation! We love ours at Banstead Village Football Club
Remember you are never to blame, you play as a Team. If a goal is conceded that is due to the efforts of every squad member. It will never lie on the shoulders of one player - not on our Team anyway....... Love your Team, Love your Club and Love your Football
@stowtownfc Embarrassing.....don't let the score line fool you, it was abysmal football from @stowtownfc and @Felixseasiders didn't need to get out of second gear
