@jeffvandermeer I’m tiring of stories where a lot of events occur and there’s a central conflict that gets resolved. I want something that explores the looming horror of, say, an average Thursday.
@KBSpangler I stopped having issues when they did something called a plasma ablation. I quote, “Plasma-mediated ablation makes use of high energy laser pulses to ionize molecules within the first few femtoseconds of the pulse.” So, drill bits are crude but not necessarily far from the mark.
@kelseyhightower I’d go with Python. Conceptually straightforward and nice guardrails. My path was Pascal, Fortran, C++, go do something else. I came back to python when I needed code to handle gobs of data.
@Truman481@UrsulaV@Kialesse Doesn’t he start one of the Peripheral books with a “liminal” sentence? I think it’s Agency. Also, @UrsulaV ‘hi!’ from a neighbor.
@wesdottoday @krisnova You know you’re older than 50 when you know the exact reason, have the full diagnosis, and a “what are you gonna do?” shrug from your doctor.
