Lots of folks hating on the conversion rate between referrals and contracts (1.2%). Conversion rates in normal recruiting are even dicier. At one point, my company had to get ~14 people to agree to an appt to get 1 contract. To get those 14 takes ~1400 attempted contacts.

@DonnybutwithaY Also the other day I was reading the submission guidelines for WOTR and I was having similar thoughts. You read the bios of the other writers and get discouraged. But you’ve got to remember that 10+ years of serving in various echelons of the military is more exp than many have.
