Hi @AmericanAir! With a paid ticket in my hand, I was bumped off an oversold flight. Oversold by ten. Nine non-rev passengers were let on. Also bumped - an elderly woman behind me, with a ticket, whose husband was already on the plane. It is unacceptable to treat paying customers this way.

I didn't get off the standby list for the remainder of the flights home that night. So, I had to buy my own flight back home while standing in the hours-long customer service line. (Otherwise, I would've missed it!) I took two flights, slept in an airport, and went straight to work the next day.

Hate to take this to X, but... you just denied my refund requests after zero inquiry or reason. I deserve my money back. @PeteButtigieg - fix the mess that is airline travel.

@smartcookiesam I completely agree. Same here in the US. I have older cars but they are like new. We keep them maintained & we have no desire to have a car payment either. Here’s pictures of people in LA with our rain. And we have more coming. Flooded Freeways!

@smartcookiesam I understand. Looking back we wish we did differently. But you did not know. Cars can be replaced. You cannot. Re the car sometimes it’s better to let insurance total it out & use the $$ for down pymt on new one even if u don’t really want a monthly car payment.

@smartcookiesam Don’t feel stupid! It is hard to judge depth of water. Happens here in SoCal too. We’re in for a couple storms Thursday & Sunday-Monday. Each time, somebody gets trapped in water that’s deeper, or moving faster than they realized. Most important is that you are ok.
