A jaw-dropping discovery in Orange County, New York, has unearthed a complete mastodon jaw, the first find in the State in over 11 years!

PEF Members John Lothrop, Curator of Archaeology: Museum Scientist 3, and Lexi DeCarlo, Research and Collections Technician, made multiple trips to the site to assist in the excavation. DeCarlo and Research and Collections Tech Kristin O’Connell will continue processing the find in the State lab.
