This morning, Cycle Toronto launched a Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms Section 7 challenge to the provincial government’s Bill 212.

The lawsuit also seeks an immediate injunction to prevent the removal of target bike lanes on Bloor, University, and Yonge.

@RichardWellings The short-term aim is to make cities pleasant. The long-term aims are to reduce car dependency, improve public health, and save Earth.

@CycleToronto Responsible government would also consider coupling a) relevant, recent city cycling data with b) global climate data to highlight c) the urgent need to reduce car dependency.

Driving in cities is the way backward.
