12 years ago @bubenshchykov built @ultiplays for our ultimate frisbee team @nova_ultimate.
I was the first tester. And the first promoter.
Today 90,000+ ultimate players use it globally, almost entirely by word of mouth. (๐งต1/5)

We also shipped Play Variations, one play that shows your team every scenario instead of creating separate plays for each read. Something a lot of users asked for. https://t.co/U8jmx2XT5l
Czech ultimate players have once again donated to Ukrainian athletes serving in Ua Army. This time without any prompting from me.
Donations came from strangers across the country. No personal connection, just a cause worth supporting.
Purest solidarity that fills my heart. ๐จ๐ฟ๐บ๐ฆ
Stand-up comedians run better startups than most founders.
They test dozens of bad jokes on real crowds, kill the ones they love if the room is silent, and only take proven hits on stage.
That's not talent. That's a feedback loop founders need to steal.

You as a single person have more power today than a 20 person company of the past. The internet gave you the ability to learn anything. Social media gave you the leverage to reach anyone. AI is giving you the ability to create almost anything. Please don't waste it.
There are no really hard tasks.
When something feels big and complicated, it's usually just a bunch of small, manageable steps hiding inside.
Break the big task into small, clear steps. Put them in the right order. Do them one by one.
In 1981, people bought their first home at 31. Boomers took advantage of low prices and interest rates.
Today, the average homebuyer is 56.
Younger generations canโt afford homes..and many donโt even want them.
The dream of a house, a dog, and a 30-year mortgage is fading fast.
Forget about:
- GDPR
- Clean code
- A/B testing
- User feedback
- Dot-com domain
- Professional logo
- Optimized legal setup
None of the above matters until you've found people begging to give you money (aka. Product Market Fit)
Iโm obsessed with data, but I donโt trust it blindlyโespecially when itโs interpreted by media or corporations. The same chart can prove China and India are either the most or least educated. It depends on what you want to see.
This is my first fiction book since I was a teenager.
I preferred practical non-fiction, but then I realized I was missing:
a deeper understanding of storytelling,
and seeing life through the eyes of a skilled observer (like Backman).
