One of the key things we’ve focused on this year with Varsity Football @shrsport is “purposeful running” and eliminating 🗑️ garbage meters.
As a result we’ve actually shorted overall training time and the overwhelming majority of our conditioning takes place in SSGs #SchoolSport

Please stop running laps of the pitch, doing stretches in each corner!
Warm ups are a golden opportunity to specifically prep the body and focus on areas that are particularly prone to injury

This post gives a brief example of how I used the fantastic work of @Physical_Prep in his Strength Training Manuals and his adaptations of Prilepin's lifting tables and reps in reserve to programme for strength training.

@BrendanThompsn Field Hockey or touch rugby?
End zones suggest a lot of lateral movement for short corners or final 2 touches in defensive series for touch.
Centre mid and middle perform multiple sprints around midfield + specific sub box entry?

This way they can only see data connected to them

@ayearinshorts@BenShields2 Use and understand how to move your own first and then introduce others if suitable.
Wheel barrows, piggy backs etc are great for learning to move with an external (sometimes unpredicted) load
@BenShields2@ayearinshorts Thanks @BenShields2 - we do use them but not as they are traditionally meant for!
Most of our work at primary is BW based, climbing crawling etc. we do use the band for tug of war, sprint wars.
Have trialled using them with isometrics and works quite well!
