(One of the perks of being a grad student in NYC) I got to be in this Wired Magazines 5 Levels video on quantum sensing! Happy to talk a little bit about my research and general quantum-y stuff. https://t.co/sD6dsS4gBJ
Understanding superconducting diode is easy to measure but confusing to understand what is the underlying mechanism. My graduate student dis a very nice and comprehensive work trying to shed light on some of the mysteries: https://t.co/JYEbd10Vnl
A new form of fluxonium qubit provides new functionalities by tuning Josephson energy over a wide range and operating in lower frequencies. @LabShabani

🔜We believe this qubit platform can lead to junction arrays with higher plasma frequencies. Also due to the smaller capacitive energy and lower frequency, we believe this qubit will be less susceptible to dielectric loss, which has stymied other gatemon qubits in the past.
🔗Out now in PRX Quantum! We made a gate voltage tunable fluxonium qubit (with 600 super-semi junctions in series)! Find it here https://t.co/q6Y8pmvmpu
〰️We show that in the different regimes the qubit spectra change drastically different and we perform coherent control of the qubit states. While the coherence times in current devices are limited, better understanding of these arrays will hopefully lead to future improvements!
Happy to announce that I’ve successfully defended my PhD at NYU! I’d like to announce that I successfully defended my thesis in physics at NYU! 🎉 The dissertation is titled “Voltage-tunable superconducting quantum circuits”.
We studied various ways to incorporate superconductor-semiconductor junctions in couplers, transmons, and a new fluxonium-style (more on that very soon 👀). These junctions could possibly introduce low power couplers to large scale processors.
I am forever grateful to @JavadShabani19 for the guidance and mentorship throughout the years, as well as my close friends and coworkers @LabShabani, including @ElfekyHeiba ,@MehdiHatefipour ,@JoeYuan19 and too many others to name.
Our gate voltage tunable fluxonium work is now on arxiv! We made a Fluxonium qubit entirely on the InAs super-semi platform. The superconductor is an array of 600 InAs-Al junctions. Huge thanks to @AndreiVraji and as always @JavadShabani19@LabShabani
Great work by @strictlybill on arXiv. Expanding gate-voltage tunability to Fluxonium: https://t.co/BM6ARzr8c4. You know your student is ready to graduate when you only have to read the paper once and make a few suggestions:
