Understanding superconducting diode is easy to measure but confusing to understand what is the underlying mechanism. My graduate student dis a very nice and comprehensive work trying to shed light on some of the mysteries: https://t.co/JYEbd10Vnl
A new form of fluxonium qubit provides new functionalities by tuning Josephson energy over a wide range and operating in lower frequencies. @LabShabani

One of the major goals in materials synthesis is to improve electronic properties such as disorder. We used a machine learning methods to study AFM images of 50 real samples combined with 17,000 simulated images to create a ML model for our synthesis:

Great collaboration between our group @LabShabani and UChicago’s Higginbotham group exhibiting anomalous behavior in non-equilibrium effects near quantum criticality: https://t.co/nhll5DcUny
Perspective: The state of the art on engineering topological superconductivity for the generation of Majorana bound states and applications on quantum technologies is discussed. @LabShabani

Our experimental studies of microwave spectroscopy of individual Andreev bound states in a super-QPC finds 99.94% transparent modes, led by @ElfekyHeiba : https://t.co/iOjqLQxjJl
https://t.co/jjBjI7ZnZm In the recent work in collaboration with the Cornell, Weizman, Harvard groups, and the IBM colleagues, we have experimentally prepared a 2D Fibonacci string-net condensate and braid the doubled Fibonacci anyons in a scalable way. @zlatko_minev
Great work by @strictlybill on arXiv. Expanding gate-voltage tunability to Fluxonium: https://t.co/BM6ARzr8c4. You know your student is ready to graduate when you only have to read the paper once and make a few suggestions:
Our work is published in PR Research! We successfully made and measured gatemon qubits on InAs 2d electron gases and characterized (many) different loss mechanisms in these circuits. We’re hoping this will pave the way for higher coherence devices based on these materials!
