2-year research scientist (MS required) or post-doc opportunity available @UofHartford working on an NIH funded clinical trial re: footwear and plantar fasciitis. DM for more info or if you want to meet this week at ACSM. @ACSMNews#ACSM2024@AcsmBig
I am more nervous to share this than anything I've ever written, but I can no longer shy away from my most firmly held belief. LONG MOVIES SHOULD HAVE INTERMISSIONS https://t.co/HvXBTO7kbK
Any #biomechanics colleagues willing to help me troubleshoot SkyScripting in Cortex? I want to show a pop-up when F>10 N on a force plate. I can do it in Post Process, but not in Live Mode. Our Motion rep is unavailable for a few days & we have subjects scheduled for Fri.
Biomechanics post-doc opportunity @UofHartford! More info here: https://t.co/NuahsHZYfM I'm so excited to *finally* get this clinical trial started! DM or email me if you're interested in applying for the position.
@jamesbtracy @AcademicChatter yeesh. want to borrow mine? it might be a little short on you though. maybe you can borrow Dustin's instead. :-D
(for the record, the only reason either of us have it at all is because our department at BYU buys them for new faculty to represent their alma maters)
@jamesbtracy @felipecarpes We usually use a modified version of a foot model Dustin Bruening developed. Bruening et al., 2012, Gait & Posture 35(4).
@SarahEKessler_ In case you haven't seen this, there's a women's sports bar opening in Portland, OR next month. Not only is it's name perfect (The Sports Bra), the concept is awesome! https://t.co/zW8nMombEL
@EllenCaseyMD We're working on creating a wearable device to track this for figure skating. One of the ways we're hoping to get athlete and coach buy in is by using the device to give them performance feedback as well. With some adaptations, this could definitely be applied to gymnastics too.
@RodgerKram @rd_wilkinson@AmSocBiomech Yes, please! We've been trying to navigate this for a product for figure skaters, but the process just keeps reinforcing to our group that we're academics for a reason. :-)
Statement: The exercise sciences need more statistics experts working with our researchers.
Ok, fine. It's me. *I* need more statistics experts to consult on my research.

@jrcrenshaw Have you tried any of the home tests for COVID? They may not work for the official back-to-school test, but it may provide peace of mind everyone else.
@JoannaReeves19@DrJNiffHall@BiomechMax Although I try to remember that i comes before y in the alphabet, as it does in Qualisys, I still have to think about it every time I type it. :-D
@LauraATC One conference I presented at actually gave me the feedback from the attendees on my presentation. It was like night and day compared to reading student evals.
Then again, maybe they were so nice because the attendees were Canadian. 😀
