Estamos en el año 2018 y todo el personal laboral en el exterior de la AGE se encuentra sometido por @Haciendagob que impone salarios de hace 10 años..¿Todo? ¡No! Un pequeño consulado con 7 @strikingworkers resiste todavía y siempre al opresor, reclamando #ActualizaciónSalarialYa

Congratulations to Chris Evans on his appointment as Australia's inaugural Anti-Slavery Commissioner.
This is a welcome step. But - as I highlight in today's @smh - with 41,000 people estimated to be living in modern slavery in Australia it is clear that we need to do more.
Today I announced the appointment of Chris Evans as the first Australian Anti-Slavery Commissioner.
The establishment of the Anti-Slavery Commissioner delivers on our election commitment and builds on our efforts to combat the scourge of modern slavery, at home and abroad.
Really pleased to meet Australia’s inaugural Anti-Slavery Commissioner, Mr Chris Evans, who will work with government, business, civil society and the broader community to help fight modern slavery and improve transparency in supply chains.
Former Labor immigration and workplace minister Chris Evans, Australia’s first anti-slavery commissioner, is aiming to use his role to bring more cases to light.

@unionsnsw@andrewjgiles Unfortunately there are also 🇦🇺 workers in legal limbo, like the locally engaged staff working at the Consulate of 🇪🇸 in Sydney. The Spanish Government knowingly underpays its workers year after year & we have no legal means to negotiate our conditions under either 🇪🇸 or 🇦🇺 law

@andrewjgiles The situation of locally engaged staff (Australian citizens and PRs) working for foreign Consulates & Embassies in Australia also needs to be addressed as this staff have no legal right to negotiate their wages and working conditions with their employer, a foreign government
