🚨 GOP Sens. Susan Collins (ME), Mitch McConnell (KY), Lisa Murkowski (AK), and Thom Tillis (NC) just helped KILL the SAVE America Act in the Senate — despite 83% of Americans in favor of requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote.
This is deeply alarming.

The "Dignity Act", introduced by Reps. María Elvira Salazar (R-FL) and Veronica Escobar (D-TX), proposes a pathway to legal status for certain immigrants in the U.S. illegally while still enforcing border control.
.@Heritage Foundation's @lora_ries explains why she opposes the bill:
"Amnesty is not good policy, because it simply tells future illegal aliens to come to the U.S., wait, and you too will eventually get your amnesty or green card. This has not worked in the past – it undermines the rule of law.
Unfortunate. The notion that ICE should limit enforcement prioritization to "worst of worst" is why the mass deportation program hasn't started and that the numbers are low.
It is Obama/Biden policy. Needs to go.
It should be about quantity.
This is a positive change, as previous guidelines had allowed for knowledge exams to be conducted in Spanish.
This makes our roads safer for every citizen.
NEW: DPS has made changes to the state’s commercial driver license (CDL) testing process. Effective today, all Texas CDL knowledge exams will be administered in English only.
This change aligns Texas’ testing procedures with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) English language proficiency requirements and will help ensure that all newly licensed commercial drivers have the communication skills necessary to operate these vehicles safely on Texas roads.

BREAKING: Texas received a major border security victory.
SB 4 makes it a state crime to illegally enter Texas. Shortly after I filed a legal brief defending that law, a federal appeals court ruled to allow it to be enforced while the case continues.
We will keep fighting in the courts, working with President Trump, and doing everything necessary to secure our border and protect Texans.
Mass deportations are not enough. We need a complete overhaul to our immigration system.
We need @RepChipRoy's PAUSE Act to freeze this broken system until it’s actually fixed.
This was clearly premeditated and designed to destroy our culture and demoralize our people. Republicans have the opportunity to solidify majorities across the nation for decades by correcting this horrible anti-American policy.
"Hiring has grown “tribal,” according to Kevin Lynn of the Institute for Sound Public Policy: “Professionalism doesn’t exist in these IT departments anymore… when you look at the hiring, it becomes very tribal — India versus the rest of the world.” Engineer Stephen Vivien described Indian H-1B workers at Google sharing interview questions to help each other. A New Jersey jury recently awarded $8.4 million against Cognizant Technology Solutions in a discrimination case involving bias against non-Indian workers."

Canada became more welcoming to mass immigration and is now hemorrhaging actual talent while its economy deteriorates. That alone should tell you the fearmongering claim that America will become less competitive without open borders is straight-up nonsense.
Congratulations to @bofrench for securing the Republican nomination for Railroad Commissioner last night. Bo has been an outspoken proponent of America First policies, including Mass Deportations, a secure border, and legal immigration reform. Great work, Bo!
Non-immigrant visa holders are, by definition, not immigrants.
The entire public justification for temporary work visas are that they are, wait for it, temporary.
Good on USCIS for attempting to restore a measure of sanity here.
Since 1980, a majority of all legal immigrants — 56% — received permanent residence by adjusting status once inside the United States.
With USCIS’s new policy, however, the majority of the 1.2 million backlogged legal immigrants with pending green card applications for legal permanent residence will have to self-deport, explains Cato’s @David_J_Bier.

After a year focused on the worst offenders, the Mass Deportation Coalition is calling for Phase Two: mass removals, visa overstay enforcement, and no more excuses.
