We made this short documentary telling the story of how our stars Egejurum Onyedikachi, Onwubiko Chimdiebube, and Don Anele Munachimso went from competing in and winning the South East Maths Olympiad to bringing home gold medals at the International STEM Olympiad in Rome last week.

Nigerian whistleblower Nnamdi Emeh, who exposed alleged extrajudicial killings and organ harvesting within the Nigeria Police Force in Anambra State, has remained in detention despite being granted bail in 2023. His trial, which began in May 2023, has faced repeated adjournments, with the Federal High Court in Awka once again postponing the hearing to October 27, 2026.

I had no childhood friends because my parents divorced very early. I changed 6 schools, got chased out for unpaid fees, other kids didn’t want to be my friend and looked at me with shame, and I started working in a sand mine at 9 to survive.

I had never been on vacation because I used that time to work, buy books and pay school fees.

At 22 they said I was too old for boxing, and there was no gym in the whole village, so I crossed Cameroon, Nigeria, Niger through the desert to Algeria and Morocco chasing Europe.

To enter Spain, I had to face barbed-wire borders. I got cut when I tried to jump multiple times and also tried to cross through the ocean, but we would get caught and sent back to the desert.”
