Professional sports used to bring cities together. Now greedy ownership dismantles them.
Our hearts are heavy today.
We pause to think of all the families and lives affected by the tragic fire in Oak Cliff, including our beloved Precinct Chair, Hon. Sylvia Collins, who is currently among those unaccounted for.
Sylvia is a tireless advocate for our community. We are holding Sylvia, her family, and all those who love her close in our hearts as we await more information.
Please keep Sylvia and all those affected in your prayers. 🙏

What's happening in Oak Cliff is unthinkable as families wait to hear from loved ones. I am grateful for the quick response of the Dallas Fire and Rescue personnel who are still hard at work trying to get those families the answers they deserve.
I'd like to uplift Mayor Johnson's announcement that a family reunification center is being established at the W. H. Adamson high school gym and will be closely monitoring the incident as it develops.
This is Ken Paxton's mugshot.
He was indicted on 3 felony counts for investment fraud.
He was reported to the FBI by his own staff for bribery.
He was impeached by his own party for corruption.
Now he’s the Republican nominee for US Senate in Texas.
Together we will stop him.
Hey Texans! It’s runoff Election Day! This is your last chance to be heard. Polls are open until 7pm. Check your county’s election information for voting locations.
For years, New Yorkers have been priced out of their own neighborhoods as outside investors have profited.
With @CMSandyNurse's COPA legislation, when many apartment buildings go up for sale, tenants and nonprofits would have a chance to buy the building before investors.
I'm proud to support COPA, grateful for Councilmember Nurse's partnership, and looking forward working with City Council to pass this important bill.
This is a hard article to read, but I hope you'll do so. I've spent some time reporting on widespread rape and other sexual violence of Palestinian male and female prisoners by Israeli authorities, and the article is now published. The assault victims were warned not to give speak of what they endured -- they were sometimes told they would be killed or raped if they gave interviews -- but they found the courage to do so. One man described being raped three times in a single day in Israeli prison, the third time after he tried to protest. A young woman said the guards would come in at the beginning of each shift and strip her naked and abuse her. Another reported that she was shown photos of herself being raped and warned they would be released unless she cooperated with Israeli intelligence. Even three children who had been detained told me they had been sexually abused. Look, whatever our position on the Middle East, we should be able to agree on being anti-rape. Sexual assaults were horrific when Israeli women were targeted on Oct. 7, and they're equally horrific when Israeli authorities use them against Palestinians day after day after day. We should be able to find common ground in opposing rape. Here's a gift link to the article: https://t.co/aMMHId49OO
Axelrod: There are a lot of people who would like you to run for president in 2028. And there are others who would like you to run for the senate.
AOC: In this op-ed that Bezos paid for in The Washington Post, there was a veiled threat—it was the elite saying if you want this job, you just stepped out of line. What’s funny about that is they assume my ambition is positional. They assume my ambition is a title or a seat. My ambition is way bigger than that. My ambition is to change this country. Presidents come and go, elected officials come and go, single payer healthcare is forever.
@PhilipTKingston Honestly, I take this exit twice a week coming from the south Dallas court. The construction is partly to blame. The signage is unclear and I’ve even had that emergency merge. It’s dangerous
Congrats to the @mnwild for winning round 1 against my beloved @DallasStars. Lots of hate between the teams and fans, but not from me. Wild played great. Much respect. They deserve the win. Good luck against the Avs. It’ll be a fun series to watch
John Cornyn and Texas GOP are treasonous to Texas. They spend most of their time waging war on Texas cities (70% in just our 4 largest metros), their other time is split trying to give sweetheart deals to Yankee and California billionaires and money/bombs to Israel.

A cancer survivor who fell behind on rent. An Uchi chef nearly kicked out over a payment dispute. A woman forced to crawl through a window to enter her own home. Sad stories fill Harris County’s JP courts. But sad stories don't win eviction cases – lawyers do. And 96% of tenants here show up to court without one. Inside one of the epicenters of the U.S. eviction crisis, I met the small legal aid team fighting to keep Houstonians housed. The Houston Eviction Advocacy Center pilot program is ambitious. It’s also absolutely necessary.
