@Matt_Powers3 Hi Matthew,
Lady Gaga has productively used her celebrity status to not only raise awareness of various social causes, but also spread sympathy and host a supportive environment in social circles.
@CelineHe5 Hi Celine,
Greta Thunberg has made great use of her public image to drive home the importance of various causes, such as climate change and the ill practices that contribute to environmental harms.
@CMinhasRU Hi Charanpreet,
Angelina Jolie is a great example of how one can use their celebrity status to aid humanitarian efforts and raise mass awareness.
Jane Seymour Fonda began stage work in the late 1950’s and has been politically active since the 60’s, such as anti-war movements, feminist causes, Native American protections, and environmental causes. Her celebrity status comes from roles in major company films. #LIDC92
@Daniela65438535 Hi Daniela,
I like your point of how A.I. is taking away the core of art; since the technology cannot have human drives, it is only able to, at best, mimic what others have already done.
@MahimaU_ Hi Mahima,
You make a good point of A.I. blurring the real and not; this concern ties back to the Conger reading where people worried about A.I. usage not being disclosed. This would serve as a threat to something's authenticity and how people place trust in others.
This reflects a demand decrease in manual intensive, automation prone, + image generating jobs. This ties back to the Griffith article, since the HBR article notes how imagery jobs saw a 17.01% decrease in the first year of A.I tools being released.

The Harvard Business Review has some hard to swallow numbers on AI's impact on artistic jobs. Within just a year of AI image gen releasing, demand was down 17%.
"We noticed that over time, there were no signs of demand rebounding, revealing a growing trend of job replacement."
@CelineHe5 Hi Celine,
You make a good point of different platforms allowing leaders to connect with their audiences in different ways, especially how Twitter/X's algorithm promotes greater audience visibility.
@CMinhasRU Hi Charanpreet,
Your highlight of leaders presenting a more authentic image is a good one, it showcases how both viewers and leaders adapt to eachother's presentations and interpretations.
@mattqtlb Hi Matt,
You make a good point of connecting Newsom to the Ruben readings; it shows how leadership roles are actively adapting to maintain connection and make statements for their audiences.
This Signium article highlights how social media has impacted the public image of leaders, alongside noting how leaders are expected to adapt to new technologies. The points made here harken back to Ruben's competencies. #LIDC92

@BingchenLyu I completely agree, by viewing a system as human, we may imprint qualities on it which aren't really there. By seeing the machines as they are, more accurate corrections or alterations may be made.
@itsrubybro70271 Developing AI without incorporating ethics will often have negative consequences. Exactly to your point, building and training AI with ethical parameters can lead to a more innovative field which keeps our humanity in mind.
Ethical AI systems can be developed to include diverse responses and responses that reflect historical patterns. The key to doing so is to keep in mind the prompter's background and aim, while having a system that can respond in adaptive fashions.

And these people are often disempowered (or worse) in tech.
It doesn't have to be this way: We can have different paths for AI that empower the right people for what they're most qualified to help with. Where diverse perspectives are *sought out*, not shut down. 🩵 /end
@TanyaK64292 When used properly, AI can help people understand class material better and has the potential to aid educators in connecting with their students.
Adam A. Phyall argues for a learner-centered education system, with AI being used with integrity. The approach would be about "ensuring students feel connected, valued, and inspired...ensuring teachers feel supported, respected, and empowered".

Teaching is about human connection—not just compliance. 💡
In a powerful new blog, @askadam3 explores how AI can help teachers reclaim time and focus on what matters most: students.

@hazelma0012 New technologies can allow political figures to build stronger followings and, as you point out, AOC has been able to develop a good PR because of her adaptability to new platforms.
@CMinhasRU Social media, when used by political leaders, can lead to stronger ties with one's audience and help inform them of relevant concerns. Here, Narendra Modi can effectively show his sympathies towards AI use.
