saddens me to hear student nurses having bad experiences on clinical placement. I cannot understand the mentality behind the dislike of student nurses. Every nurse was once a student, and the only way to cure staffing levels is to train students. We are humans, too. #studentnurse
saw this picture of the plasma donor centre being opened in westfield and the first thing i felt was rage at the fact they're using a rainbow when men that sleep with men are still unable to donate blood due to barbaric laws
“I can’t wear a mask whilst shopping because It feels suffocating, I’m struggling to communicate with people.” No. If we can do it for a full 12 hours and manage to communicate life saving information between us, a mask whilst doing your food shop really isn’t a big ask.
@MattHancock After how students have been treated recently I’ll be surprised if you do. Have a look at how MPs see us and how HEE have treated us in the past few weeks; maybe when you see a drop in a few years you’ll realise you need to take recruitment and retainment a little more seriously.
I cannot fathom how someone could even say this. I am angry. I am hurt. And I would love to have Ms Whately join me on a shift one day to see what I do if I’m not “providing a service”
'The nurses I have worked with have been wonderful.'
@DrHilaryJones, @piersmorgan and @susannareid100 react to Conservative MP Helen Whately's comments where she said student nurses in training 'are not deemed to be providing a service.'

Disappointed in some peoples views on starting placement next week. Yes it’s not the best situation and I’m sorry but we arent going to be “taken advantage of”. But we can be the difference between nurses burning out, bad patient experience and
@drew_london Totally agree! But As I said before I’m speaking as a 2nd year not a 3rd year so cannot comment on the proposed government plan for the 3rd years. For me this a regular placement in a not sk regular time and I plan on going to get my hours and qualify! ☺️
@drew_london Feel like I should clarify, I’m a second year going onto a regularly scheduled 4 week placement as a part of my studies. I was meant to be doing this in Kenya but that could not go ahead. So I’m ready to help out where possible and get these 4 weeks done! ☺️
@LSimpson_95 I’m at kings college London! Actually can’t fault them through all of this, I think they’re handling this as well as they can given the unpredictability of it all!
@LSimpson_95 Thankyou Lauren! I understand them too but Also have my own opinion! Those are the regulations that I understand will be in place in my trust too! I have faith in my trust and university to keep me safe and I also know I will do what I have to keep myself safe! Thankyou again x
@andrewjsargent@LeanneHPatrick see what i can learn from being on the wards at this time. Just saddens me to see students writing it off before we’ve even got onto the wards and seen it for ourselves. We are all adults who are capable of stepping away from a situation overs concerns about ours or others safety
