@MattLearnsLingo LOL!😂 btw I also see its use as a great way to create some kind of distance, so to not become too friend-like or close with someone in a higher position/a teacher. i don't wish to form close relationships with them just like how i approach strangers with the formal pronoun.
started learning specific N5 vocab. i feel i learn a bit better with the combination of a structured environment (jlpt levels) and i spend most of my free time watching japanese content anyway :P
Just learned about adjective declension for German and I must say that this chart from a YT video did a good job at explaining. Did this random exercise I found afterwards to check my understanding. :) Only made real mistakes in akk. masc. I think I got confused by -en endings.
it feels so great being able to write correct phrases with declension in german. finallyyy i can speak without stopping every word 🥹 now onto learning more vocab incl gender
mixed up die Straße because I got tricked with the "der" article in my head because of der Mann before it haha, but again another exercise made without looking at a chart. So considering all answers I got right, this method works insanely well, so far.
been watching lots of German documentaries for pure immersion since I can passively understand everything already and I do active grammar exercises / vocab study (the grammatical gender!!) so I can start speaking at the same level as my understanding soon :)
I did not even have to look at the chart to do the exercise, which I forgot to tell. Because the man in the video explained the strong & weak endings system so well.
now that duolingo is an AI-first company i don’t feel that it’s ethic to use the app any more (besides the fact that duolingo has been firing its human translators) i’m not against progress or whatever this is but languages are part of culture and what makes us humans
@MattLearnsLingo "Wat je zaait, zul je oogsten." For reap what you sow. They mean the exact same thing and I believe are biblical proverbs in origin as I researched through the sources.
