@jonstephens85@Polycam3D@LumaLabsAI From my limited research - Polycam produces denser point cloud and more detailed results, however the splats more often fail to process. Luma reconstructs almost everything but to a slightly less detailed effect. Both could use a splat video generator! (Luma renders NeRFs)
As of yesterday - PhD in Fine Arts. Four years of constant hard work, learning 3D and Blender from the ground up, researching, writing, experimenting. Amazing time with a great conclusion.
@MystWolven@JonLamArt I am showing them my works scraped for Laion 5B, and ask them do they think anyone got my permission for this. My goal is to get them to know exactly what they're dealing with. Hiding from it won't help them and you seem to fail to understand that.
@MystWolven@JonLamArt What are you on again? I'm just saying I am not witholding any knowledge about what's going on in technology around them. You may be a little too wound up because you're reading way too much into what I'm saying.
@MystWolven@JonLamArt Also, you'd be surprised how little they know about AI. They don't live on twitter, they don't care that much for the most part which is both good and to their detriment. What I want is to teach them basics, the technique and help them develop a curiousity and desire to learn.
@MystWolven@JonLamArt I absolutely don't allow AI on my Digital Painting course. I failed two students for using Midjourney for their projects last semester because I explicitly told them the point of the class. Most of them didn't even try to cheat this way, which is good.
@gleb_alexandrov@raneem__fx You have Israeli left-wing politicians saying this is a consequence of an ethnic cleansing that Israel's right-wing government is conducting. All acts of violence are despicable, but this is just what happens when opressed just have no hope for any change or help left.
@gleb_alexandrov@raneem__fx What would my condamnation change? If you lock a creature in a cage and endlessly torment it, gradually taking away its space, food and killing it's young, don't be surprised when it lashes out with extreme violence. Who is to blame in this situation, really?
@MystWolven@JonLamArt I really hate this stuff, but pretending it doesn't exist or that it will magically go away is naive. I keep track of lawsuits and regulations (or lack there-of) and tell my students all about the legality and morality of it. Witholding this is disservice to them.
@MystWolven@JonLamArt Students need to understand how it is built, how does it work, what effects does it produce and how it's already being used. The fact that it's a legal and moral mess is another argument for talking about it. Students should know this stuff and understand it.
@oji_vlogs@gleb_alexandrov This is what happens when a powerful and rich country, who has all the technology and weapons they crave, conduct a systematic prosecution and extermination of another nation they keep in an open air cage for 70 years.
@gleb_alexandrov It's plain and simple. The victims of genocide reach for the only option they feel they have, which is blind violence agains their opressor. Look up how many Palestinian children die yearly because of IDF. They lost all hope, like a caged animal.
@gleb_alexandrov@raneem__fx Gleb, imagine you have no other option than violence, because your people, children included, are being systematically banished from your homes, persecuted and murdered by the hundreds. You're blaming the victim from taking extremely drastic measures, but they have no hope.
