@babbyknowsball@Nealerrr To be fair the Leafs don’t need him to be/didn’t pay him to be a regular 20 goal scorer. If he was expected to produce like that the AAV would be 10+. I think 10 goals/50+ points would live up to that AAV.
@EmptyNettersPod@aboulianne04@Ncass95 Where was the hissy fit? You have a podcast where you analyze hockey don’t you? If you don’t think it’s a good move provide your reasoning lmao, I don’t think that’s an unreasonable ask personally, unless it’s just an engagement farm or course like the Heated Rivalry stuff.
@EmptyNettersPod@Ncass95 So basically you aren't willing to actually elaborate on what you think is wrong with the move? Just lame jokes at Leafs fans expense and no real thoughts?
@AdamZHerman It means they knew he wasn't going to re-sign with them and they opted to get an asset rather than lose him for nothing, as has been done plenty of times before in similar situations.
@MTLMartyy@GuhleSzn@MapleLeafs It's for sure a risk, but I think under the hood everything looks solid. He has solid underlying metrics, and his blow up in production coincided with Hedman going down with injury and him getting about 5 extra minutes of opportunity per game. He wasn't on PP1 until last season.
@GuhleSzn@MapleLeafs All indications are that he’s a net positive player at 5v5 as well. And a good PP can make a hell of a lot of difference. The Leafs made the playoffs in 2017 on the back of a 2nd in the league PP.
@GuhleSzn@MapleLeafs A right shot offensive D-man with a big slap shot to play on the Leafs PP, something we haven't had in ten plus years, is an awful fit? Interesting take here.
@ThumpyLoudfoot@mcclusk I’m just saying you can’t coin a nickname yourself and say there’s a reason people called him that lmao fucking moron. You can’t find a single instance of anyone else calling him that because it doesn’t exist.
