On behalf of the Government and the people of Nepal, I extend our deepest gratitude to Your Excellency Smt Droupadi Murmu for your kind concern and also for the generous support and solidarity extended by your government following the recent calamity in Nepal.
Junk foods will soon carry #warninglabels highlighting #highlevels of #salt, #sugar and #fat, with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (#FSSAI) telling the Supreme Court on Friday that it has agreed to red-coloured #hexagonal#warnings on the front of food packages to help consumers identify products high in specified nutrients of concern. The position was conveyed in a compliance affidavit filed by FSSAI before the Supreme Court's August 13 order on front-of-pack labelling (FoPL). The move comes after the court pushed the Centre to act on the issue, saying, “If the Union does it on its own, well and good, otherwise we shall proceed to pass further directions.” @timesofindia@fssaiindia@MoHFW_INDIA@JPNadda
Sustained public outcry against forcible imposition of E20 petrol seems to be working. 💪
The govt can no longer say that supplying E10 Petrol is a 'logistical nightmare'.
BPCL MD has clearly said that he sees no challenges in supplying E10 Petrol.
The transport, dispensing and storage infrastructure created for premium petrol can be used for E10.
It now seems like it just a matter of time before E10 Petrol replaces the likes of XP95/Speed/Power.

First, they suppress the SIAM letter exposing corrosive chloride in E20.
Then, they mislead the nation claiming just 2 bad samples across 87,000 pumps.
Two weeks later? Petrol sales halted at 2,573 pumps. That is a 1,200x surge in admitted contamination.
Why has ethanol blending become so untouchable that the government is willing to sacrifice citizen vehicles, hard-earned consumer money, and basic transparency to protect it?
Who is really profiting from this blind push while ordinary motorists pay the repair bills?
Demand accountability. Demand fuel choice.

They rushed to implement E20 without fixing the contamination problem first. E20 with contaminated fuel became the perfect recipe for ruining petrol cars.
They remained in denial mode. Now, after the customer-powered backlash, they are accepting the fundamental issues because everything is being blamed on E20.
Very satisfying, because they killed the car lover in us.
Today, Russia conducted a test launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile (IRBM) from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome, with the missile reportedly reaching more than 6,700 km.
The purpose of the launch was to test the tactical, technical, and flight parameters of the missile system.

Watched a very insightful discussion on Autocar between Hormazd Sorabjee Sir, Peter Gilbert, and Leandro (Brazilian guests and senior representatives from Infineum) on Ethanol blended fuel.
Here is what I learned...
✅ They took ethanol samples from the market and audited them for quality.
✅ Initially, problems with rubber parts, O-rings, and injectors were seen with E85.
✅ In India, if an E10 car is run on E20 for a long time, it may show a check-engine light when the engine fails to calibrate with E20 fuel. This varies from brand to brand and car to car.
✅ To ensure good-quality ethanol-blended fuel, tanks at fuel pumps must be kept super clean to avoid biodegradation.
✅ Brazil collects 5,000 samples per month to check for chlorine contamination in fuel and ensure compliance with standards.
✅ The chlorine limit in India is 3 ppm, while Brazil has a limit of 1 ppm.
✅ A poor ethanol-production process can also cause contamination.
✅ Brazil has limits for iron and sodium, but Indian ethanol-production specifications do not.
✅ Oil companies in Brazil check ethanol to audit its quality and ensure that the standards laid down by the National Petroleum Agency are maintained.
✅ Fuel sellers conduct density checks at the pump level to ensure there is no adulteration in Brazil.
✅ Chlorine comes from the ethanol-production process and should be controlled within prescribed limits to prevent issues in cars.
✅ If specifications are followed, injectors, metal parts, and fuel pumps should not face any issues. Otherwise, contamination may cause crystals to form and clog the fuel injectors.
Opinion: There seems to be a HUGE difference between the quality of fuel provided in Brazil and India because of differences in overall checks, ppm limits, and iron and sodium level checks. Brazil mastered it gradually, but we implemented it in a hurried manner. Hopefully, we will match their quality standards.

When TEAM BHARAT put out the SIAM letter which was censored & hidden by the govt that E-20 petrol was adulterated & contaminated, the govt put us under House Arrest!
Now as the govt stops sale of E20 petrol at 2573 petrol pumps due to finding contaminated & adulterated fuel that will damage our vehicles; once again TEAM BHARAT had been proved correct & the Govt a bunch of liars !

Subhash Chandra did not “settle ₹22,000 crore for ₹6.5 crore because he was a BJP MP.” Here is what the NCLT file actually says.
A post is circulating: Subhash Chandra took ₹22,006 crore from banks, willfully defaulted, walked into NCLT, and was asked to pay ₹6.5 crore. Then the punchline — he was a BJP Rajya Sabha MP, so of course he got away with it.
The order is real. The numbers are roughly real. The story built on top of them is not.
This was not Chandra personally borrowing ₹22,006 crore and then refusing to repay it. It was personal insolvency of a personal guarantor.
Indiabulls Housing Finance moved against him over a guarantee for a ₹170-crore loan to Vivek Infracon. NCLT admitted that plea in April 2024. After that, other lenders who held his guarantees for Essel Group entities filed claims. Those claims added up to about ₹22,006.57 crore.
That figure is stacked guarantee exposure. It is not cash he withdrew into a personal account.
IBC personal insolvency does not ask, “What would look fair on Twitter?” It asks, “What is left in this person’s estate, and will the required majority of creditors accept a plan based on that?”
The Resolution Professional’s valuation found his personal estate was worth less than the ₹6.5 crore on offer. ₹6.25 crore for creditors. ₹25 lakh for process costs. Creditors holding 80.81% of the voting share approved the plan in November 2024.
NCLT’s third member approved it after a split verdict. The tribunal said it cannot replace creditors’ commercial decision with its own embarrassment about the haircut. It also said rejecting the plan could push him into bankruptcy and leave dissenters with even less, including against the companies that actually borrowed the money.
LIC Housing Finance voted no. Its admitted claim of ₹1,322 crore would get about ₹38 lakh. That is ugly. It is also how majority-driven insolvency works. Dissenters get bound.
The “he never paid anyone” line is the other fiction.
After IL&FS, Essel was sitting on a debt mountain near ₹20,000 crore. Promoter shares in Zee were heavily pledged. Lenders were one sell-off away from wrecking the stock and the group. Chandra’s family sold down the Zee holding — the asset he called the crown jewel — and other businesses to repay lenders. In 2021 he said 91.2% of debt to 43 lenders across 110 accounts had been settled. That is not the biography of a man who took the money and vanished.
Was he a BJP MP who used the party to fix NCLT? No. He was an Independent Rajya Sabha MP from Haryana, 2016 to 2022, elected with BJP support. He lost his 2022 re-election bid. The insolvency was admitted in 2024. The plan was cleared in 2026. He was already out of the House.
Now the part a defence should not hide.
Creditors pointed to old net-worth certificates of ₹40,000 crore-plus against a disclosed net worth near ₹32 crore in this process. That gap is the real scandal-shaped hole in the story. NCLT said the difference justified questions, then said IBC does not require a forensic audit before a plan can be approved. Some yes-votes were also alleged to be friendly entities. If that is proven on appeal, the 80% vote looks a lot weaker.
So the honest position is not “nothing to see here.”
The honest position is this:
He over-guaranteed group debt.
The group hit a pledged-share crisis.
He sold most of the family’s control in Zee to repay the bulk of lenders.
What remained were personal guarantees sitting on a thin personal estate.
A statutory majority of creditors took ₹6.5 crore rather than fight over assets valued even lower.
That is a brutal haircut and a serious design problem in personal-guarantor IBC.
It is not proof that one former Independent MP stole ₹22,000 crore and got a political discount.
If you want a better rule, demand mandatory forensic tracing when historical net worth and the present estate do not match, and a hard look at related-party votes. That argument is adult.
The viral version is just arithmetic without the file.
