@WallStreetMav I am the target audience for the Odyssey. A man who goes to the movies, has read the Odyssey, & likes adventure/revenge movies. Yet, every single thing I've heard about the casting makes me not want to see it. If the audience reviews aren't steller, I won't even watch on video.
Public outcry from middle class car buyers will not force the government to reverse its stance on ethanol blending.
Household car ownership in India sits at roughly 8 percent, making vehicle owners a fairly insignificant vote bank for the ruling administration. Furthermore, a large portion of these drivers remain completely unaware of the technical details and do not realise how higher ethanol blends actively destroy engine components over the running life of their vehicles.
This tendency of the public to act as mute, ignorant spectators gives policymakers the exact leeway they need to radically increase blending targets. The state will consistently prioritise agricultural sector payouts over the mechanical integrity of passenger engines because the electoral math heavily favours the former. Not to mention the vested interests of several senior politicians in power who benefit directly from increased ethanol blending.
Yesterday my 3.5 year old car “Skoda Slavia” had to be send for repair as it stopped on the road and would not start properly. Had to be towed to a service station. As per the service station new high mixing of ethanol in petrol damages the fuel pump and it has become a major problem. They on average receive upto 6 to 7 cases a day which may require change of fuel pumps. It seems government has neither thought through nor did any study as to how this new fuel with high ethanol mix will affect the existing cars. Car owner have become the guinea pigs and causing them a lot of financial harm. SAD state of affairs @nitin_gadkari ji
The only person in power that realised that we have a medieval peasantry that needs to be forcefully dragged into modernity died in a plane crash in the summer of 1980.

On June 22, 1941, Hitler launched the largest military invasion in the history of the world.
In the pre dawn darkness, more than three million German and Axis soldiers, thousands of tanks, and thousands of aircraft erupted across an 1,800 mile front and poured into the Soviet Union.
It was a staggering betrayal. Germany and the USSR had signed a pact of friendship less than two years earlier, and Stalin had trusted it right up to the end, ignoring every warning that the blow was coming.
The surprise was almost total. In the first hours, Soviet aircraft were destroyed by the hundreds sitting on the ground before they could even take off. Entire armies were encircled and swallowed whole as the German spearheads raced east.
Hitler believed the whole rotten structure would come crashing down in a matter of weeks. He told his generals they had only to kick in the door and the whole thing would collapse.
He was catastrophically wrong. He had just opened the deadliest front in the history of warfare.
What followed was four years of fighting on a scale the world had never seen, fighting that would kill tens of millions of soldiers and civilians and ultimately consume Nazi Germany itself.
The road that began at dawn on June 22 would end with the Red Army in the ruins of Berlin.
