When you default on a 50 Lakh home loan, the bank seizes your house. And auctions it. Suffers maybe like 20-30% loss. But, what happens when a big corporate defaults?
(1) Step 1: Renegotiation
Let's say the corporate owed 1000Cr. Since the size of the debt is so huge, the bank will first renegotiate the interest repayment, terms of payment, timelines etc.
Now this is down to 800Cr (by analysing asset value)
200Cr is written as bad debt.
(2) Step 2: Haircut
More rebates are given.
Sometimes, even new line of credit is issued in the hope that rest of the money will eventually be recovered.
This might look illogical. But, this happens.
(3) Step 3: NCLT/Bad Debt outsourcing
In case even 800Cr can't be recovered.
The bank sells the bad debt to another party at let's say 350Cr.
The third party buys the bad debt worth 800Cr at 350Cr. And, tries to collect whatever it can.
(4) If issue becomes political more assets are seized and auctioned. And, eventual recovery is done for let's say 100Cr
(5) In this entire process: the bank lost 900Cr. But, the money is not really bank's money to begin with. Because the bank also borrows money from somewhere.
From whom exactly? (go google!)
So who is actually bearing the loss? the taxpayers. Because eventually (a) this money is collected in the form of higher subsequent taxes (b) inflation in the economy.
In simple words: the losses are socialised.
It is a myth that an average Indian is poor.
The top Indians who hob-nob with politicians are putting Russian Billionaires to shame.
Add black money, you get a fairly big upper middle class that pays no tax.
A seemingly poor Indian doesn't really need to work.
They can survive on government rations.
They have a lot of free time.
The only truly poor person in India is a white collared job doer. They are time poor, energy poor, money poor.
Despite working 12 hours, the facilities they get is close to 0. And, they are taxed even when they die.

the villages alleged that it was an incident of sacrilege in which some miscreants first tore the pages of Shri Guru Granth Sahib and then set those pages on fire. They demanded that Police should immediately arrest the culprits and appropriate action should be taken against them.

I am a Hindu. I have lived in Canada my entire life. Never before have I felt unsafe. Today I do.
Today I see signs telling me to leave this country. I see Hindu temples being attacked. I see Hindus being threatened.
And no where do I see any effort to stop it.
So turns out US intelligence worked closely with Canada on possible India link to murder of that Khalistani terrorist.
Perhaps a good cop/bad cop gameplay to leverage this allegation in order to compel India to abandon its neutrality in international relations?
This was not just an attack against Hardeep Singh Nijjar, it was an attack against Canada, and all those who believe in truth, justice and freedom. We must continue to demand justice until all those involved in this heinous act are prosecuted under the fullest extent of the law.
Nice.
That’s a former Indian diplomat, K.C. Singh, justifying violent Sikh extremism in Canada by linking it to so-called blasphemy incidents in Punjab.
He doesn’t have a single word of condemnation for the shameful actions of his coreligionists, who have hacked multiple innocent Hindus to death in the name of blasphemy in recent years, without feeling the need to follow due process. And what makes it worse is that Sikh religious organisations not only hail such extra-judicial killings but also declare the murderers qaum de heerey and arrange legal aid for them.
The point to ponder here is: If the Hindus are so intolerant, why don’t any such blasphemy incidents happen in gurdwaras located in Hindu-majority states where Sikhs are a minuscule minority?
And then Singh very conveniently remembers military action taken about 40 years ago against Khalistani terrorists who were on a killing spree to turn Punjab into a theocratic Sikh state, but he wouldn’t like to tell us as to what makes these Khalistanis so trigger-happy and prone to joining terrorist ranks.
And yeah, by the end of the farmers’ protest, there was no Khalistan, not because nobody bloody demanded it; there was no Khalistan, and there won’t ever be one because the Indian state is too big to be taken on by a handful of violent clowns.
And if there were no Khalistani elements among the protesting farmers, who were raising Khalistani slogans and issuing hate speech against the Hindus at the protest sites? Who were making threats of an Indira Gandhi-like assassination to PM Modi? Who were attacking policemen with swords, trying to crush them under their tractors? Who were demanding the unconditional release of Khalistani terrorists lodged in Indian jails? Who sieged the Red Fort? Try these theatrics in a western country once and see the magic unfold.
Also, it would be really awesome if terror apologists shared the data specifying the religion of those caught on camera desecrating the Sikh holy book in Punjab in recent years.
Remember all the noise made after explosions around the Golden Temple in May this year? Somehow, all the Sikh outfits demanding justice went fully quiet after all five perpetrators turned out to be Sikhs who planted these bombs solely with the intention of disturbing peace and justifying their demand for Khalistan by falsely blaming the attacks on the Hindu community.
#Gravitas | In this episode, we delve into the fallout from #Trudeau's risky Khalistan gamble.
With no arrests made so far, Canada finds itself isolated on the world stage as allies snub PM Justin Trudeau.

#WATCH | Canadian MP Chandra Arya says, "Few days back Khalistan movement leader in Canada and the president of Sikhs for Justice which organizes the so-called referendum, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun attacked Hindu-Canadians asking us to leave Canada and go back to India. I have heard from many Hindu-Canadians who are fearful after this targeted attack. I urge Hindu-Canadians to stay calm but vigilant...The Khalistan movement leader is trying to provoke the Hindu-Canadians to react and divide the Hindu and Sikh communities in Canada. Let me be clear. Vast majority of our Canadian Sikh brothers and sisters do not support Khalistan movement. Most Sikh Canadians may not publicly condemn the Khalistan movement for several reasons but they are deeply connected to the Hindu-Canadian community...I can’t understand how glorification of terrorism or a hate crime targeting a religious group is allowed in the name of freedom of speech and expression..."
