@paraschopra I’ve noticed that the people with the strongest intuition don’t necessarily consume the most information.
They spend more time questioning it.
That’s how knowledge turns into judgment.
"For novice workers in software engineering or any other industry, our study can be viewed as a small piece of evidence toward the value of intentional skill development with AI tools. Cognitive effort—and even getting painfully stuck—is likely important for fostering mastery."
Maybe it's going to be reality in future more often, people actually don't have clue what's in the weeds
These are high ownership strong engineers who now are probably stretched so thin that can't literally keep up with pace of system.
Prod issue at work - in times of AI driven software engineering
We get an alert, db id with type INT, it's nearing it's limit, we need migrate to BIGINT.
A Senior engineer who i have worked with in multiple projects comes to me, we start jamming ideas.
His answer : don't know
I am stunned, how can you not know? it's your service right?
But this is not first time in this month
It's been happening a lot and with multiple prod issues.
A simple rule for life that rarely fails:
Optimize for enthusiasm. Make as many choices as you can that leave you feeling energetic and interested. Pay attention to when you have the urge to pursue or participate in something and do more of it.
This is a sobering realisation every week. While you want to solve problems yourself because that's what you enjoyed as a engineer. But increasingly right choice is to first ask a model .
There are war time cultures
There are peace time cultures
There's war time ideology.
There's peace time ideology.
One's better for individual.
Other's better for the group.
🚨 Special report on Meesho 🚨
Meesho has kicked off its IPO process to raise over $600 million at a valuation of $5.8 billion. It will be the first major horizontal e-commerce platform to list in India.
This report is our attempt to break down the key questions around its business model and the company’s next growth levers.
Last year, we published a report on Swiggy, whose business model was easier to understand given widespread consumer familiarity and the fact that rival Eternal had already been listed for over three years. That allowed us to go deeper into the people behind the company.
For Meesho, we’ve changed the format, given that it is the first horizontal e-commerce company to be listed, and its user base is different from all the listed e-commerce companies, from Eternal to Nykaa.
We’ve used an FAQ structure based on the questions we’ve been receiving about the company.

Early in my career, I was obsessed with following tech 'experts' and their strong opinions about why X was dead and Y was the future. Their tools, blogs, their cautionary tales on why if you don't use shiny new paradigm world will fall apart. (1/5)
most of the time the current tech is already so good that, you won't run into problems randomly. As long as your fundamentals are strong and you are not force fitting tools into problems, you will mostly be alright. (4/5)
