#secondtimeisabug
Six months of writing, rewriting, and occasionally questioning everything I thought I knew about AI-assisted software engineering.
The result is The Second Time Is a Bug, a practical field workbook on building reliable systems around AI coding agents.
34 patterns. 26 reproducible drills. One central idea: the first mistake may be the model's, but the second deserves an engineering response.
Publishing soon.

if "donโt touch the tests" actually matters, it shouldnโt live in CLAUDE[.md]..
a PreToolUse hook that rejects writes under "tests" is like 10 lines and the agent canโt talk its way past it
trying something new... writing a book in public for the first time
it's called "the someday folder"... for anyone with a folder full of half-finished side projects, now that AI can help build almost anything.. why hold back?
first chapters go up next week, new ones every 1-2 weeks till launch... all free while iโm writing it

if you want to know whether your AI/SI reviewer actually catches stuff... plant a bug you already know about and open the PR
off by one, a missing await, a test that asserts nothing
if it says "looks good, minor nits" thatโs your answer
