@McDonnellDan IMO playing the game has gained a lot more publicity than simply not showing up would have done. Images of bowed heads and no handshakes went around the world. The Israeli fans in the ground making ape sounds and chanting IDF lifted the lid on a very sick society.
@BarryMasterson Feels like the end for me.
Decades of highs and lows( mostly lows) I have never felt so disconnected or disappointed .
Where are the leaders in the squad ?
๐ฃ๏ธ"I'm just seeing isolated players in a hotel room having to make this call... Where is the leadership from an Irish perspective?"
๐ฃ๏ธ"We went from that reconnection with the fans after Hungary... to horrendous reputational damage across all boards."
The Sunday Paper Review panel breaks down the lack of FAI planning and leadership, leaving Irish international players isolated in Hungary to navigate political fallout and severe reputational damage. โฝโ๏ธ

These are the players that are with Unique Sports Group. Their agency is full of cowards. The Irish players should have still said fuck them and not play the game
@LansdowneRD_IE It should never have come to this, but it has.
The players voted, and shamefully a majority said play.
Even more regrettably Gavin Bazunu has been ostracised and in one case abused to his face.
Are the squad blind to the feelings at home?
@BarryMasterson First timers in the squad having an equal say as veterans is ludicrous.
Bazunu not being informed of or given the chance to vote just stinks of manipulation and pressure.
Feels like a huge moment.
Praying for more heroes to emerge today.
